After School Program Assistant

Description: Sewickley Academy is seeking to hire a part-time Assistant for our after-school program. The after school program operates between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Assistant is responsible for the supervision of students in Grades 1-5. This role will supervise children to ensure continuity and quality of programming. Responsibilities: * Check the program's equipment and make sure it is adequate before the program starts. * Treat all children with dignity and respect. * Assist the Director in lesson planning, implementation, and evaluation of the After School Program. * Work with other team members as needed. * Ensure all children are signed in and out each day. * Maintain a professional attitude at all times. * Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times. * Report to Director with any problem which may occur with the children. * Observe, record, and report on the behavior of individual children as assigned. Requirements * Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting. * Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
