Assistant Track and Field Coach

Midland University, a private, faith-based, liberal arts university in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha), is seeking an Assistant Track and Field Coach. The candidate will support the Head Coach of Cross Country and Track & Field in providing leadership, including coaching, recruiting, equipment management, and other duties, for effectively developing the team.Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:Assist the Head Coach with the administration and leadership of the cross country and track & field programs to provide:Coaching and instruction for distance runners during training activities and competitions during the cross country and track seasonsLead recruiting and retention efforts for distance runnersDirection in strength and conditioning activitiesLeadership in running competitions, camps, and clinicsEnsure team compliance with all NAIA and institutional rules and regulationsRepresent Midland University by continuously modeling respect, integrity, and student-focused decision-makingExperience Needed:A minimum of 2 years of cross-country and/or track and field coaching experience is requiredPrevious recruiting experience is preferredDemonstrated critical thinking, positivity, and problem-solving skills, along with strong communication skillsEducation, Licensure & Certification Needed:A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a focus in education or human performance is preferredUSATF or USTFCCCA Certification preferredMust have a valid driver's license and be insurable through the UniversitySkills & Abilities Needed:Current and working knowledge of training methods for distance runnersA self-starter with a positive attitude and strong relationship-building skillsAbility to resolve issues with a team and independently #J-18808-Ljbffr
