Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Sep 28, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring cardiac step-down expertise and the ability to manage vasoactive drips Details Medical Surgical Unit at a cardiac-focused hospital setting Cardiac step-down patient population 12-hour shifts on a day/night rotation (0700-1930 or 1900-0730), typically in 6-week blocks May consider straight night shifts for interested candidates No straight day shifts available Every other weekend and holiday required, with option for straight weekend schedules Voluntary on-call opportunities available Requirements Active RN license (SD or Compact) currently in hand Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Cardiac step-down experience required Experience managing vasoactive drips including nitro, levo, neo, and anti-arrhythmic medications Experience with cleviprex administration required BiPAP experience required Chest tube management experience required Telemetry monitoring experience required No previous permanent employment with Avera or Sanford health systems allowed Additional Information Provide cardiac step-down nursing care including hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication management Blocked scheduling and specific scheduling requests are not permitted American Traveler Job ID P-747788.
