Medical Support Staff

Job TitlePosition Summary: Responsible for taking clients to medical appointments and updating clients' medical information. Provides appropriate support for the office to help our individuals increase independence by making a difference daily in applying the five Chrysalis Values: Respect, Safety, Fun, Mentoring and AccountabilityEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTransport and accompany the individuals to medical appointmentsPunctuality and regular/consistent attendance at the worksite are required and the employee must be able adhere to their workplace schedule in order to ensure proper oversight of individuals.Stay awake, responsive, and communicate effectively to the individualsAble to manage aggressive and assaultive individuals without other staff.Notify House Managers of individual's medical appointmentsMaintain company vehicleBe up-to-date on individuals' medical historyUpdate individuals' medical history in databaseMaintain strict confidentiality regarding individuals' medical history/informationFollow the Provider Code of Conduct according to company and state standardsNeeds to have flexible availability as each day brings a different scheduleOther Duties assigned by the Medical CoordinatorExperience or EducationHigh school diploma or GEDBe at least 21 years of agePass and maintain a passable criminal background check and LEIE per state regulations at least annuallyShould possess the ability to speak, read and write effectively in EnglishBe able to drive a company vehicleKeep eligible to drive under the Chrysalis Driving Requirement PolicyMaintain a valid driver's licenseTraining and CertificationsComplete all initial and on-going training requirements within established time framesComplete annual CPR, First Aid, and OSHA trainingObtain and maintain SOAR certificationEssential Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with employees and clientsKnowledge of Microsoft WordDemonstrate professional phone etiquette and public relations when working with employees, outside professionals, state employees, and guardiansDemonstrate excellent organizational skillsAbility to record and understand doctor notesAbility to work productively with minimal supervisionPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee may be exposed to various environments including, but not limited to the following: aggressive individuals, may come into contact with blood and/or salvia, and other OPIM.
