Join our dynamic team as a Smart Home Security Prewire Technician and play a vital role in laying the foundation for cutting-edge home security systems. This energetic position involves installing and pre-wiring smart security solutions, ensuring seamless integration of surveillance, sensors, alarms, and audio/visual systems. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and project managers to deliver top-tier service that enhances home safety and security.

Responsibilities

• Install prewiring for security systems including cameras, sensors, alarms, audio/visual devices, and low voltage cabling in residential settings
• Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately plan wiring layouts and system designs
• Use hand tools and power tools to run cables through walls, ceilings, and conduits efficiently and safely
• Troubleshoot equipment issues during installation by diagnosing wiring faults or hardware malfunctions
• Ensure compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and local building codes during all wiring activities
• Collaborate with project teams to coordinate installation schedules and meet project deadlines
• Provide technical troubleshooting support for system design adjustments or installation challenges

Skills

• Mechanical aptitude combined with construction experience for effective cable routing and equipment placement
• Proficiency in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpreting construction plans
• Familiarity with low voltage wiring practices, cabling techniques, electrical experience, and the use of hand tools including power tools such as drills and saws
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues related to security system hardware or cabling faults efficiently
• Knowledge of locksmithing principles related to electronic locks and door access control devices
• Understanding of NEC standards for electrical installations in residential or commercial environments
• Excellent communication skills for providing technical support to clients or team members during installation processes

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
