Diesel / Trailer Mechanic

Trailer/Tractor Mechanic Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers. Perform annual and systematic 90‑day inspections of trailers as required. Ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards. Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and shop as needed. Identify parts and supplies needed for maintenance and repair. Adhere to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste. Keep the work area clean, organized, and maintained to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety. Operate welding equipment as necessary. Required Skills & Abilities: At least 1 year of experience in general knowledge of equipment theory, principles, and repair related to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. At least 1 year of experience in tractor and trailer maintenance, including DOT rules and regulations and company policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent vocational schooling (preferred but not required). Dynamic, ambitious, and engaged team player.
