Veterinary Technician 1, 2, or 3-Anesthesia

This position provides anesthesia and anesthetic support for all clinical service areas, including Small Animal Internal Medicine, Small Animal Surgery, specialty small animal services, and all Large Animal clinical services. Responsibilities include preparing and monitoring patients before, during, and after anesthesia; assisting faculty clinicians and house officers with anesthetic procedures; and ensuring the safe delivery of anesthesia in accordance with established hospital protocols. The individual must possess expertise in the safe handling and restraint of small animals and be able to provide instruction and guidance to veterinary students in anesthesia techniques, patient monitoring, and proper animal handling while fostering a safe and effective clinical learning environment.

Essential Personnel - Required to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and emergency response.

Physical Requirements - Required to be capable of more than 50 pounds, standing or walking for prolonged periods, able to reach above and below the shoulder, vision (near sight), vision (far sight), kneel or sit on the floor, push/pulling, grasping, crawling, twisting, squatting, climbing, sitting, and/or bending.
