About the Role

Pinnacle Partners is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager in Indianapolis, IN. This is a high-visibility project leadership position within a growing medical device manufacturer, focused on leading strategic, cross-functional initiatives across Product Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of project management experience, a strong track record of independently leading complex projects from concept through completion, and the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership while managing priorities, resources, risks, budgets, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead strategic projects within the Product Development organization from initial ideation through completion.
• Manage approximately 70-80% of the role around driving, coordinating, and leading projects, with remaining time dedicated to reporting, documentation, stakeholder communication, and project governance.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, with projects generally ranging from 6-12 months in duration.
• Lead projects involving Product Development, New Product Introduction (NPI), Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain, Operations, and Capital initiatives.
• Define and communicate project plans, schedules, objectives, scope, roles, and responsibilities.
• Establish project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and priorities to ensure successful execution.
• Monitor project progress and ensure initiatives remain on schedule and within budget.
• Assign responsibilities and coordinate resources across cross-functional project teams.
• Provide oversight across assigned projects to support prioritization, resource alignment, risk management, and consistent project management practices.
• Partner with functional leaders to identify project resource requirements and resolve capacity constraints.
• Identify, assess, communicate, and mitigate risks that could impact successful project completion.
• Manage changes to project scope, schedule, budget, and priorities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Establish and maintain project governance processes, stage-gate reviews, project controls, and reporting standards.
• Support product lifecycle planning, including product roadmaps, product phase-out and sunsetting activities, product performance testing, and clinical trial projects.
• Maintain project documentation, strategies, plans, and related information throughout the project lifecycle.
• Present project status, risks, business impacts, and recommendations to senior leadership and executive teams.
• Drive achievement of key business objectives, including revenue growth, operational efficiency, cost reduction, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
• Provide people leadership and coaching to assigned Project Manager(s), including setting priorities, providing guidance, and supporting employee development.
• Support the development and implementation of scalable project management processes across the organization.
• Coordinate equipment, logistics, and other project-related activities as needed.
• Support department budget tracking and expense reporting.
• Communicate project updates and requirements effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Work closely with Engineering, Product Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, and other functional teams.
• Balance competing priorities and maintain focus on project outcomes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Take ownership of projects and independently drive initiatives through completion.
• Help establish and grow the company's overall project management function.
• Support the continued development of project management standards, processes, and best practices.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and serve as a central point of coordination for complex initiatives.
• Provide leadership, accountability, and structure across projects with significant cross-functional and business impact.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of project management experience.
• Demonstrated experience independently leading projects from initiation through completion.
• Experience leading larger-scale, cross-functional projects involving multiple departments or functional areas.
• Strong project planning, scheduling, risk management, and execution skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Experience using project management software and tools.
• Ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
• Strong understanding of project governance, project controls, and project reporting.
• Ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate with senior and executive leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to personally drive project outcomes rather than simply supporting project administration.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and working with stakeholders at multiple levels of an organization.
• Experience providing leadership, mentoring, or coaching to Project Managers or project team members.
• Ability to independently prioritize initiatives and make decisions necessary to keep projects moving forward.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively across Engineering, Product Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, and other departments.
• Ability to work onsite in Indianapolis, IN Monday through Friday.

• Engineering or Supply Chain experience.
• Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience with change management.

• Strong project risk management experience.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, Scrum, or Sprint methodologies.
• Experience in ISO 13485-regulated environments.
• Medical device manufacturing experience.
• Product development experience.
• New Product Introduction (NPI) experience.
• Experience with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Experience working within FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience with manufacturing or operationally complex organizations.
• Experience building or establishing project management processes or a PMO function.
• Experience supporting product lifecycle management, product roadmaps, product phase-out, or clinical trial initiatives.
• Experience presenting project status and recommendations to executive leadership.
• Experience mentoring or managing Project Managers.
• Experience working across Product Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations.
• Experience taking projects from initial concept through implementation and completion.
