A contract opportunity is available for a dynamic educator passionate about health science instruction. This onsite position is perfect for someone skilled in general education with a strong background in science— especially chemistry, anatomy, or related health science disciplines. You’ll have the rewarding task of guiding middle and high school learners through curriculum designed to inspire future healthcare professionals.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Illinois General Education License required
- Health Science endorsement strongly preferred; related science endorsements (chemistry, anatomy, etc.) considered
- Experience as a general education teacher, particularly in science, is highly desirable
- Familiarity with state and district-specific requirements such as PEL (Professional Educator License)
- Strong classroom management and innovative instructional abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach health science classes to a diverse caseload at 33.75 hours per week
- Develop engaging lesson plans covering core health science concepts
- Assess student learning progress, adapting instruction as needed
- Foster a safe and supportive classroom community
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school-wide initiatives
- Maintain accurate records in line with district and state regulations
