Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit night shift position requiring ACLS certification and prior cardiac care experience.

Details

• Work in a hospital Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) providing intermediate care for cardiac surgery patients from pre-op through discharge
• Care for pre/post-cardiac intervention patients including PTCA, cardioversion, generator implants, and TAVR procedures
• Also supports patients with atypical chest pain requiring cardiac monitoring
• Unit consists of two sections: CVU (16 beds) and CVI (15 beds)
• Third shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts
• Full-time position at 0.9 FTE, working three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage required per unit needs

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or compact license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum two years of cardiac/cardiovascular nursing experience required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including comprehensive assessments, treatment implementation, and care coordination for cardiac patients
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including patient and family education
• Delegate and oversee care team members' performance of patient care activities
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient satisfaction and fall prevention
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary care team members to support patient-centered treatment planning
