Have full control of the team in all matters pertaining to coaching and athletic discipline. Implement Peabody Athletic Department policies and team rules. Be responsible for information contained in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Handbook and the Peabody Athletic Handbook. Stay informed of rule changes, trends, and recommendations that affect their particular sport. Be present at each practice session and at all contests of the sport coached. Develop an organized written practice plan to include adequate warm‑up and cool‑down procedures on a daily basis. Model professional and healthy behaviors, lead by example in appearance, manners, language, and conduct during practices/games. Ensure facilities and equipment are safe and safety procedures are taught and followed in all areas. Perform all duties/responsibilities assigned by the Director of Athletic. Implement game plans and game management. Process medical forms, parent consent forms, and eligibility reports. Work with community members involved in youth sports. Directly supervise squad members at home and away contests. Supervise all team members transported by school buses. Qualifications High school level volleyball and/or high school level coaching experience required. First Aid/CPR required. MIAA/NFHS Coaches Certification required.
