This position is a Civilian Biologist in the Department of the Army, providing acquisition support for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) defense capabilities. In this role you will: Support acquisition programs and projects, to include development and scientific initiatives for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) defense capabilities. Conduct a variety of engineering and scientific investigations, including theoretical and experimental studies, to support product development and production. Provide technical support throughout the product life cycle, from research and development to procurement and disposal, including contractor oversight. Serve as a technical advisor on systems integration and development, participating in program reviews and preparing technical reports. Qualifications Must be a US Citizen. Eligible candidates must meet the following education and experience requirements: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering (or a program leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a school of engineering accredited by ABET). The program must include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: statics, dynamics; strength of materials; fluid mechanics, hydraulics; thermodynamics; electrical fields and circuits; nature and properties of materials; and any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics (e.g., optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics). Degree completion must be by June 2026. Experience may include paid and unpaid experiences, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations. Credit will be awarded for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
