Mechanical Engineer for AI Training

Role Overview

Apply hands-on mechanical engineering expertise to help train and validate advanced AI systems for engineering applications. You will provide high-quality, real-world technical input that improves how AI models learn, reason, and perform. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D CAD models of simple mechanical components using SolidWorks, NX, Creo, or CATIA.
• Interpret and analyze technical drawings, including critical dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
• Document component requirements, technical specifications, and manufacturing tolerances in clear, structured formats.
• Provide insight and feedback on conceptual stress analysis and finite element analysis tasks to support model validation.
• Review, critique, and improve technical documentation and CAD outputs for accuracy and clarity.
• Deliver expert written and verbal feedback to train and validate AI outputs in mechanical engineering contexts.
• Collaborate asynchronously with cross-functional teams using remote communication tools to meet project objectives.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in mechanical design engineering, with emphasis on 3D CAD modeling and FEA.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, NX, Creo, or CATIA. Experience across multiple platforms is preferred.
• Experience as a design engineer modeling components, interpreting drawings, and defining requirements.
• Ability to interpret and create comprehensive technical drawings and documentation.
• Strong conceptual understanding of stress analysis, FEA principles, and engineering validation processes.
• Knowledge of end-to-end engineering processes, from requirements definition through validation and documentation.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and close attention to documentation detail.

Work Terms

• Remote contract engagement.

Compensation

• $55 to $100 per hour.
