The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for advancing technology in the semiconductor field. The position offers opportunities to engage in engineering design, integration tasks and contribute to the development of innovative solutions. This will require international travel of up to 30%.Key Responsibilities:Integrate, test, and characterize systems and components as part of new system developmentAs part of system integration, combine hardware and optical subsystems with software to deliver seamless, high-performance productDesign and conduct experiments to characterize, troubleshoot, and improve metrology performanceDevelop plans of action, and execute in a timely mannerGenerate both internal and external technical presentationsAbility to understand and generate technical documentation for manufacturing and serviceRelease documented procedures through ECO processAs part of field support, travel (up to 30%) to customer sites within and outside the USJob requires full-time presence on-site at primary factory locationQualificationsQualifications• Masters in Engineering or equivalent experience in Sciences with a focus on Engineering, Physics or Optics• >5 years experience in a semiconductor capital equipment engineering role, preferably metrology• Experience in applications development using optical metrology techniques• Hands-on experience in the integration of precision optical and optomechanical components• Proficiency in data analysis using various programming/scripting tools (Python, Matlab, etc.)• Excellent analytical capability for systematic troubleshooting• Possess good interpersonal skills and willing to work in a team environment• Experience working on prototype systems in a hands-on laboratory setting• New product development and support in the semiconductor spaceWhy Join Onto Innovation?At Onto Innovation, we believe your work should matter—and so should your well-being.
