Job Title Technician (Associate, Level I) Job Overview Join Colonial Pipeline as a Technician (Associate LevelI) and play a key role in maintaining and repairing industrial systems across our pipeline network. This entry‑level position focuses on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems while providing opportunities for training and career growth. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems. Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. Support emergency response efforts and maintain related equipment. Manage parts requisitions and assist with budget tracking. Complete documentation for DOT compliance and internal reporting. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution. At least 1 year of industrial technical or operations experience (mechanical or electrical). Valid driver’s license with ability to drive company and personal vehicles, including material pickup. Willingness to work flexible hours, holidays, weekends, call‑out and overtime as required. Ability to complete NexTech Skill Sets I and II. Mechanical aptitude and strong work ethic. Critical thinking and sound decision‑making skills. Preferred Qualifications Completed apprenticeship and/or associate or technical degree in a related field. 3+ years of industrial field operations experience, with at least 2 years as a mechanical/electrical technician. 1+ year of experience as a Pipeline Technician. HAZWOPER training, forklift training/licensing, or other state licenses. Physical Requirements & Work Conditions Work indoors and outdoors at all hours in all weather conditions near refined petroleum products and heavy equipment. Physical mobility to sit, stand, reach, pull, push, and bend. Lift up to 75 lbs unassisted. Work in non‑permit required confined spaces. Communicate verbally via two‑way radio. Traverse uneven terrain and climb steps up to 60 ft and vertical ladders to valve platforms. Work from valve platforms and tanks to 60‑foot heights. Normal visual acuity; if corrected, must be 20/40 or better. Color recognition for control panel indicator lights; detect petroleum products by smell.
