Description
- Conduct thorough assessments for patients of all ages, employing both established standardized methods and insightful observational techniques.
- Create effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs, addressing immediate goals and long-term communication or swallowing objectives.
- Engage in personalized therapy sessions focusing on various aspects of speech, including language, fluency, and swallowing capabilities.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care strategies that benefit each patient.
- Educate patients and their families to reinforce therapeutic progress outside of the clinical environment.
- Participate in select inpatient therapy assessments and treatments, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.
- Maintain precise documentation in alignment with clinical guidelines and regulations.
- Remain abreast of ongoing developments in the field through continuous learning and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.
- Active state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices for individuals across the lifespan, with a deep understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders related to both developmental and acquired conditions.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering rapport with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Capacity to adapt therapeutic strategies to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment paired with effective problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation protocols.
