Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to support our regulatory compliance and strategy related to artificial intelligence.

In this role, you will work directly with business and legal teams to develop regulatory compliance plans and strategy related to artificial intelligence. Duties include: identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies; advising on regulatory and compliance matters, privacy, intellectual property, and go-to-market strategy; providing input on business strategy; and analyzing and contributing to AI/ML policy positions around the world. Your role will give you the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders, including privacy, public relations, and public policy teams.

You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business to innovate and scale quickly. The successful candidate will be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- 5+ years of legal experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning technology and regulatory compliance and strategy
- A combination of law firm and in-house experience
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound and practical business judgment
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
