Director, Data Scientist

Salary: $189,370 - 361,950 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science, or another business or quantitative discipline, or 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
• We require 8 years of experience in predictive modeling, model governance, machine learning, and large-scale data analysis, or an advanced degree such as a masters or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative STEM field plus 6 years in those areas.
• We require 3 years of direct management experience.
• We need strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
• We need experience with tools and technologies commonly used in data science delivery, such as SQL, Python, R, Spark, and Hadoop.
• We need experience developing and reviewing modeling approaches using techniques such as linear and logistic regression, time series, survival analysis, support vector machines, neural networks, decision trees, random forests, gradient boosting, deep learning, clustering, simulation, and other advanced methods.
• We need proven ability to apply modeling and machine learning best practices to business challenges.
• We need demonstrated ability to prepare and review complex technical documentation and communicate modeling insights to business, technical, and non-technical audiences.
• We need a strong record of presenting results, insights, and technical solutions to senior executive leadership.
• We need deep technical capability, consulting experience, and business acumen to work effectively across all levels and functions of the organization.

• We lead and develop a team of Data Scientists delivering advanced analytical solutions in an agile, collaborative environment.
• We identify, scope, and manage complex analytical initiatives with business stakeholders, including translating outcomes for non-technical executives.
• We act as an advanced analytics thought leader and advisor, helping shape strategies that improve competitiveness and differentiation.
• We influence business, data, and technology leaders to invest in and expand advanced analytical capabilities through strategy, planning, and budgeting discussions.
• We drive scalable, automated business insights using machine learning, simulation, and optimization.
• We ensure all modeling and machine learning solutions follow industry standards, model risk policy, and regulatory expectations.
• We partner with enterprise analytics and IT teams to strengthen core capabilities and processes.
• We identify additional resourcing needs, including IT investments, third-party support, or added analysts.
• We build and oversee the team through recruiting, development, retention, coaching, performance management, and day-to-day leadership.
• We ensure business risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in line with risk and compliance requirements.
• We manage the teams project portfolio and communicate progress, results, and key updates to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
• We oversee the teams model inventory and maintain compliance with model risk management policies and regulatory requirements.
• We research emerging technologies, spot innovation opportunities, and promote the use of advanced analytical capabilities across the company.
