The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can provide technical guidance, maintain accountability, and help ensure field service work is completed efficiently while meeting company, customer, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. Responsibilities Ensure technicians complete required documentation for verification and calibration of CMMs, vision systems, optical comparators, surface plates, hardness testers, microscopes, and related equipment Ensure field service work is performed in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 procedures Review and approve technicians' weekly time and monthly expenses Provide technical support to technicians and customers Prepare quotes and process orders for calibrations, repairs, retrofits, machine moves, and new equipment setup Travel into the field as needed to assist technicians or follow up on customer concerns Conduct employee reviews and support onboarding and offboarding activities Help maintain technician accountability, productivity, and service quality Required Skills and Experience 3–5 years of metrology experience required Strong decision-making and critical-thinking skills Ability to manage conflict and provide direction to employees Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and data entry High school diploma or GED required Formal metrology training or previous Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) training preferred Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 70 pounds Ability to bend, kneel, stand, and grasp objects as required Why Work for MSI Viking?
