Occupational Therapist (OT) - Outpatient

Employment Type: Full time – Shift: Day Shift Position Purpose The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides evaluation and treatment of patients referred for occupational therapy services. The OT collaborates with other caregivers to provide quality care and maintain accurate patient records. What You Will Do Perform occupational therapy evaluation, establish and implement treatment plans for patients referred by a provider and assigned by the manager, clinical coordinator, or designee. Evaluate, provide, or construct patient adaptive equipment or splints. Provide patient, family, and health providers with training and education for compliance with use, wear, and precautions. Document accurately OT evaluation results, treatment interventions, patient progress toward goals and discharge records. Maintain proper billing for the services provided. Delegate appropriate treatment procedures to the Occupational Therapy Assistant/COTA; review and co‑sign their documentation. Communicate with appropriate health care providers on matters concerning patient treatment, continuity of care, and discharge planning. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program; a doctorate is preferred. Current license to practice occupational therapy in the state of Ohio. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider certification. One year of clinical experience in a related area preferred. Effective communication skills. Ability to make sound decisions and use good judgment concerning patient evaluation and treatment. Ability to function in a professional capacity with minimal supervision. Physically able to perform strenuous activities, including lifting and transferring patients.
