What We’re Looking For Enjoys educating and connecting with people Communicates effectively Will advocate for patients Is licensed and has demonstrable technician and animal handling skills Is reliable and trustworthy Shows adaptability and resilience Responsibilities Tier 1 Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) Your role encompasses basic clinical tasks and client service functions, proficiency in Unregistered Veterinary Assistants Tiers 1 through 4, use of practice management software, obtaining and documenting vital signs, and skill in various patient care procedures. Tier 2 Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) Building on Tier 1 foundation, you will perform broader clinical procedures and advanced medical equipment management, including diagnostic imaging, sample collection, and exceptional client service. Tier 3 Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) Responsible for anesthesia, surgical support, anesthetic equipment management, and ophthalmological procedures under direct DVM supervision, as well as client education and treatment plan discussions. Tier 4 Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) Mastery of all lower tiers plus advanced responsibilities such as intraperitoneal injections, advanced medical administration, leadership, training, and mentoring of junior staff. Shake things up: innovate new ways of delivering care. Special Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Expect to spend majority of day standing, sitting, and typing at a computer. Physical strength to safely lift objects up to 50 pounds without assistance. Ability to assist in lifting patients weighing more than 50 pounds. Must have sufficient strength and assertiveness to restrain patients safely. Confidence around pets (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.). Work environment is moderately high noise level. Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions and solve complex problems. Ambulatory skills sufficient to perform duties while at hospital. Ability to manipulate up to 50 pounds of material. Good hand‑eye coordination and visual acuity for equipment use. Specific vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment. Staff routinely exposed to pets that may bite or scratch and occasional exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances. Experience, Education and/or Training 1 year minimum in Licensed Veterinary Technician role required. Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program and appropriate registration status with the state of employment. High school diploma or higher education. Excellent computer skills.
