Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and veterinary practices, demonstrating proficiency in various technical skills essential for the well‑being of our patients. This role requires a commitment to providing high‑quality care and support to both animals and their owners in a fast‑paced veterinary environment. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed. Conduct animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during examinations. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide client education on pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Monitor animal vital signs and behavior pre‑and post‑surgery. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including surgical areas. Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures to prevent infection. Handle animals with care, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times. Qualifications Previous veterinary technician experience is preferred; kennel experience is a plus. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices. Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures related to animal dental care. Experience in veterinary critical care is highly desirable. Proficiency in laboratory techniques relevant to veterinary medicine. Experience with equine handling is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong skills in dog handling, training, grooming, and catheterization are preferred. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self‑motivated. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
