Network Engineer

Description Responsibilities Monitor network performance to ensure system availability, reliability, and optimal performance. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitches, FortiAP wireless networks, Cisco switching infrastructure, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, and Cisco access points. Provide Tier 2 support for network incidents and service requests at local and remote sites. Perform network maintenance, upgrades, lifecycle refresh activities, and network documentation updates as needed. Troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, and VPN-related issues. Work within established configuration management and change control processes to ensure awareness, approval, and successful implementation of network changes. Implement network security controls in accordance with cybersecurity policies and standards. Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration documentation, standards, and operational procedures. Experience analyzing network performance and troubleshooting with debugging tools, packet captures, logs, and traffic analysis. Comprehensive understanding of routing protocols, LAN configuration, wireless deployment, SD-WAN, and site-to-site VPN technologies. Proficiency with Fortinet firewalls, switches, and wireless access points. Experience deploying and supporting Cisco and Fortinet network environments. Knowledge of SD-WAN configuration and deployment, site-to-site VPNs, route maps, prefix lists, VLAN design, and network segmentation. Experience supporting wireless deployments in warehouse environments, including handheld scanners and mobile devices. Preferred Qualifications Experience with warehouse distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or high-density wireless environments. Exposure to network monitoring, logging, and management platforms such as FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, SolarWinds, or Microsoft Sentinel. Experience with BGP, OSPF, static routing, route redistribution, and multi-site network design. This is a 5 days a week onsite role at the new Las Vegas plant All Fortinet gear Big plus if this individual can also provide IT Support in addition to Network Engineer responsibilities 6 month contract initially, could extend This person will work very closely with our Sr Network Engineer Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Las Vegas, NV.
