About the Role

We are seeking an Associate, Growth Merchant Lead (aGML) to join the Outside Sales team and help expand presence in emerging and underserved markets.

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and signing new restaurant partners across assigned territories. You will work directly with local restaurant owners, conducting face-to-face sales meetings and managing a fast-paced sales cycle from initial outreach to contract signing.

This is a field-based sales position requiring extensive travel throughout Hawaii and surrounding territories.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Identify and acquire new restaurant partners in emerging and rural markets.
  • Build relationships with local and regional restaurant owners.
  • Educate merchants on the value of partnering.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements and revenue-sharing terms.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing.

Territory Expansion

  • Travel throughout assigned territories to increase market penetration.
  • Expand footprint in underserved and high-growth markets.
  • Execute market-specific growth strategies in partnership with leadership.

Sales Execution

  • Conduct in-person sales meetings with restaurant owners.
  • Utilize sales tools, marketing materials, business cards, and promotional resources.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed partnership acquisition goals.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity and pipeline management.

Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Share market insights, competitor intelligence, and growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable sales strategies and best practices.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel is required for approximately 50% or more of working time.
  • Most travel will be within 2 hours of the hiring location.
  • Some overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional longer travel days may involve:
  • 6–7 hours of driving
  • Air travel to destination markets
  • All approved travel expenses are covered.
  • Travel activity will be monitored for compliance purposes.

Required Qualifications

  • 2.5+ years of sales experience in a closing role or similar customer-facing sales position.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Comfortable conducting face-to-face sales presentations.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in the field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of successful SMB (Small and Medium Business) sales experience.
  • Experience selling to restaurants, food service businesses, or hospitality clients.
  • Background in outside sales, territory sales, or business development.
  • Experience in high-volume transactional sales environments.
  • Familiarity with restaurant operations and the food & beverage industry.
