Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Work in a 38-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a hospital setting,
• Patient ratios of 4:1, sometimes 3:1,
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, AFib, COPD, and CHF,
• Utilizes telemetry monitoring, EKG, pacer box, and bladder scanner equipment,
• Common medications include Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, Tikosyn, insulin, Lasix, Primacor, and Veletri,
• Uses Epic EMR,
• Day shift schedule from 6:45am-7:15pm,
• Works three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours),
• Every other weekend required,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (KY or compact) currently in hand,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required,
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Must be able to read telemetry and titrate medications,

• Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team,
• Facilitate patient and family education related to care, treatment, and discharge planning,

• Delegate tasks appropriately to licensed and non-licensed personnel,
