What you will be doing As an Industrial Designer, you’ll evaluate and analyze product requirements, objectives, and constraints. Assists with developing technical and functional specifications for mechanical products. Conceptualize and develop new products that can be effectively manufactured. Conducts simulations and prototype testing to evaluate product safety, reliability, and performance. Aid in identifying appropriate materials and processes to develop effective solutions that meet the outlined specifications and manufacturing cost requirements for products. Help maintain the injection mold tool status and injection mold processing spreadsheets. Prepares technical documents detailing designs, instructions, and specifications. Utilizes SolidWorks and other design and modeling tools to develop mechanical manufacturing parts and/or components and communicate conceptual designs to stakeholders. What they are looking for BS in Industrial Design or a closely related field and 7+ years of design experience with injection molded plastic products; a basic understanding of injection molding principles. Proven project management experience from initial product planning and scope definition through delivery to customers. Excellent SolidWorks design skills. Good Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator skills. Must be open-minded, team-oriented, clear communicator, with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. Good mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new processes.
