About the Role:

The Warehouse Scanner plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of inventory management within a warehouse environment. This position is responsible for scanning and tracking products as they move through various stages of the supply chain, from receiving to storage and shipping. The Warehouse Scanner helps maintain real-time inventory data, which supports operational decision-making and customer satisfaction. By accurately capturing product information, this role minimizes errors and discrepancies in stock levels, contributing to overall warehouse productivity. The successful candidate will work closely with warehouse staff and management to uphold safety standards and streamline workflow processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic proficiency with handheld scanning technology or willingness to learn.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift items up to 50 pounds for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a warehouse or inventory control environment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
• Basic understanding of safety protocols and procedures in warehouse settings.
• Good communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members.
• Ability to operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment (certification is a plus).

Responsibilities:

• Scan incoming and outgoing products using handheld scanning devices to record accurate inventory data.
• Verify product information such as SKU numbers, quantities, and locations to ensure data integrity.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining the warehouse layout to facilitate efficient scanning and retrieval.
• Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to warehouse supervisors promptly.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and maintain a safe working environment.

Skills:

The required skills such as attention to detail and proficiency with scanning devices are essential for accurately capturing inventory data and preventing errors. Physical stamina and the ability to handle repetitive tasks ensure that daily scanning and product handling are performed efficiently. Preferred skills like familiarity with warehouse management systems enhance the ability to navigate software tools that track inventory in real time. Communication skills facilitate effective teamwork and reporting of issues, which helps maintain smooth warehouse operations. Additionally, knowledge of safety protocols ensures that scanning activities are conducted in a manner that protects both personnel and products.
