Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sign Maker / Sign Designer with at least three years of recent, hands-on, on-site commercial sign shop experience.

This is not a marketing, print, branding, or general graphic design position. Applicants without professional sign shop experience will not be considered.  Qualified applicants will be expected to discuss sign production methods, materials, fabrication techniques, and installation procedures during the interview.

The successful candidate must have experience designing, producing, and performing light installations of a wide variety of commercial signage, including:

• Channel letters
• Dimensional letters
• Cabinet signs and lightboxes
• Monument signs
• Post and panel signs
• Wall signs
• Window and wall graphics
• ADA signage
• Directional and wayfinding signage

This is a hands-on production position , not a design-only role. Daily responsibilities include creating production-ready artwork, operating sign equipment, applying digital prints and cut vinyl to various substrates, laminating graphics, and performing light installations such as window/door vinyl, ADA signs, and interior dimensional lettering.

Responsibilities

• Design production-ready signage using FlexiSIGN, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop .
• Design a wide variety of commercial signs including channel letters, dimensional letters, monuments, lightboxes, wall signs, ADA, and wayfinding systems.
• Perform light installations including window graphics, door graphics, ADA signs, and interior dimensional letters.
• Prepare production files for fabrication.
• Operate large-format printer, plotter, and laminator.
• Apply digital prints and cut vinyl to rigid substrates with precision.
• Maintain quality standards while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Maintain job documentation and an organized production area.
• Provide occasional customer assistance by phone or in person.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum three years of recent, hands-on, on-site employment in a commercial sign shop.
• • General graphic design, print shop, marketing agency, freelance design, or wrap-only experience does not satisfy this requirement.
• Hands-on experience performing light commercial sign installations is required, including:
• Vinyl and digital graphics on glass
• Interior ADA signage
• Interior dimensional lettering
• Proven experience designing production-ready artwork for:
• • Channel letters
  • Dimensional letters
  • Cabinet signs/lightboxes
  • Monument signs
  • Post and panel signs
  • ADA signage
  • Wayfinding systems
  • Vinyl graphics
• Hands-on expertise with FlexiSIGN, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop .
• Experience operating large-format printers, plotters, laminators, and related sign production equipment.
• Experience applying vinyl graphics and digital prints to various substrates.
• Strong knowledge of sign materials, fabrication methods, color management, and production processes.
• Valid NJ driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle for local travel (mileage reimbursed).

Salary

Salary range as listed. Higher compensation may be considered for exceptional experience and demonstrated skills.
