Care Team Leader-Pediatric General Medical/Surgical

60% FTE, 8/12 Evening/Night Shifts with a weekend and holiday rotation per unit. Hours may vary based on operational needs of department. You will be working at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI. This position is eligible for shift and weekend differentials depending on hours worked.

Pay:

Additional components of compensation may include:

Shift Differentials: $4/hour evening and $5/hour night as applicable for hours worked. Weekend Differential: $4.25/hour as applicable for hours worked.

We are seeking a Care Team Leader-Pediatric General Medical/Surgical to:

• Join our NEWEST unit at the American Family Children's Hospital
• This 9 bed unit will care for children from infancy through adolescence.
• Care for patients who have a wide variety of complex medical and surgical problems, including: General Surgery, Trauma Surgery, ENT, Urology, Plastics, Orthopedics, other surgical specialties and medical observation (OBS)
• Motivate and lead nursing staff while working in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
• Analyze and resolve problems that fall outside the domain of the nurse clinician and collaborate with other departments and care providers.
• Mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Work Experience

• 2 years experience in an inpatient unit Required
• 2 years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years' experience in an inpatient unit Required
• 3 years experience in an acute care inpatient unit Preferred
• Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
• Current CPR/BLS certification Required
• National certification in relevant specialty Preferred
