We are committed to being responsible stewards of our resources, ensuring efficient and cost-effective care for all.Position Summary:The school-based Clinician / Assessment Specialist at River Valley Counseling Center (RVCC) is a dual-role position responsible for providing direct mental health services within school settings while also conducting diagnostic and psychological assessments. This role maintains a clinical caseload, delivers therapeutic interventions, and collaborates with school staff, families, and interdisciplinary providers. In addition, the position supports diagnostic evaluation efforts—particularly for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)—to ensure accurate diagnosis, inform treatment planning, and enhance overall quality of care. The position offers opportunities for professional growth within a supportive, team-oriented environment while maintaining client dignity, autonomy, and confidentiality.Key Responsibilities:Provide direct therapeutic services to children and adolescents within assigned school settings in alignment with RVCC's Counselor II/Clinician standardsMaintain an active caseload, including individual, family, and collateral sessionsCoordinate care with school staff, families, and external providers to support client treatment goalsDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical needsComplete timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and regulatory standardsParticipate in team meetings, case consultations, and supervision as requiredRespond to crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions within the school settingAdminister and score standardized psychological and developmental assessments, including but not limited to: Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2), Autism screening tools (e.g., AQ-10), Projective and/or supplemental measures (e.g., CAT, TAT), ADHD assessments (e.g., Conners CPT-3, BASC-3)Conduct comprehensive diagnostic intake interviews, including: Developmental history, Symptom presentation, Functional impairments, Alignment with DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteriaDifferentiate between Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and other overlapping or co-occurring conditionsIdentify and document co-occurring mental health, behavioral, or learning concernsPrepare clear, concise, and clinically sound assessment summaries and reportsCollaborate with psychologists, psychiatrists, and interdisciplinary team members to support diagnostic clarification and treatment planningMaintain fidelity to assessment protocols, ethical standards, and best practicesSupport a multidisciplinary approach to client care by integrating assessment findings into treatment recommendationsPromote culturally competent and neurodiversity-affirming assessment and clinical practicesContribute to strengthening RVCC's internal assessment capacity and service delivery modelStay current with evidence-based practices in ASD, ADHD, and child/adolescent mental healthOther duties as assigned.Qualifications:Master's degree in human services, Social Work or related health or services field.Independent clinical licensure required (e.g., LMHC, LICSW, or equivalent)Formal training in ADOS-2 administration by an approved Independent TrainerExperience administering ADHD and related psychological assessment toolsDemonstrated expertise in diagnosing and treating Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHDStrong knowledge of child and adolescent developmentAbility to conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and interpret resultsCommitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming careMeet all requirements for RVCC Counselor II/Clinician position.Preferred:Bilingual in Spanish & EnglishWhat We Offer:A supportive, mission-driven work environmentOpportunities for professional development and continuing educationCompetitive benefits packageCollaboration with a compassionate, multidisciplinary teamThe chance to make a real difference in our communitiesSummary of Benefits:Salary: 68,000 per yearBased on years of experience, level of education, specialty and licensure/certifications.
