Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2+ years of acute care experience and cardiac rhythm recognition skills.

Job Details

• Work in a 12-bed Progressive Care Stepdown Transitional unit within a hospital setting,
• Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, and A-fib RVR,
• Patient ratio of 4:1,
• Standard unit equipment including computers on wheels, IV pumps, and poles,
• Uses Paragon EHR,
• Night shift schedule from 7p-7a,
• Required to work every other weekend,
• Call requirements apply,
• Floating required to med/surg and ED/ICU overflow to care for PCU or lower acuity patients,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS,
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience required,
• Associate Degree in Nursing (AND) required,
• PCCN certification preferred,
• Skilled in cardiac rhythm recognition and management of cardiac drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone,
• NIHSS certification preferred,

• Provide nursing care for progressive care and stepdown transitional patients, including cardiac drip management and rhythm monitoring,
• Proactive, outgoing, team-oriented personality valued in this role,
• Scrub color requirement: navy blue or black,
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel assignment,
• Candidates may not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months,
• Candidates must not be employed elsewhere full-time
