Vice President of Commercial Operations

AXG is partnered with a private equity-backed energy infrastructure owner and operator seeking a Vice President of Commercial Operations . Historically recognized for its extensive midstream pipeline network, the company is expanding into a broader integrated energy infrastructure platform, with strategic investments across natural gas, power generation, carbon management, industrial energy solutions, and emerging energy technologies. This executive will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, finance, legal, and project development to commercialize new infrastructure projects, develop strategic partnerships, and create long-term value for customers and the organization. Responsibilities Develop and execute commercial strategies that drive long-term business growth and market expansion. Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and infrastructure investments. Structure, negotiate, and execute complex commercial agreements, including transportation, services, joint ventures, and long-term customer contracts. Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders. Lead commercial evaluations, business cases, financial analysis, and market assessments to support investment decisions. Partner closely with engineering, operations, finance, legal, and project teams to ensure commercial alignment throughout project development and execution. Establish scalable commercial processes, governance, and performance metrics to support continued business growth. Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities within the energy infrastructure sector. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced business degree preferred. 15+ years of progressive commercial, business development, or strategic leadership experience within energy, utilities, industrial infrastructure, or other capital-intensive industries. Demonstrated success developing commercial strategy and originating complex business opportunities. Experience negotiating high-value commercial agreements and strategic partnerships. Strong financial and commercial analysis skills, including business case development and investment evaluation. Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
