Responsibilities About the role: This role is responsible for managing and enhancing GM Financial’s enterprise Audio/Visual infrastructure, including conference room technology, digital signage, system administration, and operational support. The position leads AV-related projects, drives technology improvements and automation, ensures system reliability and compliance, and provides technical expertise and exceptional customer service across the organization. In This Role You Will Manage all Audio / Video Equipment for Conference Rooms, Training Rooms, and Digital signage throughout GM Financial Create and maintain Conference Room and Training Room experiences with room automation technologies such as Creston and others Deploy and Maintain Digital Signage Infrastructure throughout GM Financial Provide internal and external customers with excellent customer service while striving to provide world-class service Effectively communicates current status of all projects, problems, and issues to the department ITS Facilities AVP Proactively identifies opportunities for improvements to existing processes and for automation of time consuming tasks Manage projects and provide vision and technical direction to oversee and ensure prompt completion of projects Provide design support and consultation for departmental and enterprise projects Attend departmental, project and general meetings and effectively represent current status as appropriate Manage operational support of corporate, branch, and service center operations Ensure that all systems are running at optimal capacity Study and analyze the performance and capacities of the systems and prepare plans for future expansion and upgrades Procure hardware and software consistent with the company's requirements and following all appropriate processes Participate in company provided training and perform independent training as appropriate Conduct audit compliance assessments and initiate corrective action Resolve incident management tickets as they arise and ensure timely resolution Evaluate, perform, and delegate system administrative functions as appropriate Evaluate and install system patches and system updates as directed Perform critical system changes after business hours Adhere to all company authored policy, procedure and standards documents Author policy, procedure and standards documents based on industry best practices and personal research and experience Collaborate with the department ITS Facilities AVP to develop and maintain professional network and business relationships with vendors, peer organizations, and other business contacts Provide technical and operational support in all technology areas Assist with new technology research in order to stay abreast of the latest developments in technology, trends, and knowledge, and legislation Assist with making changes to system platform designs as needed Development of goals, objectives, and unit work plans in coordination with the IT strategic planning process Determining the direction and enhancement of the AV systems to meet the needs of the organization Identify and evaluate third party vendors, technology, or processes for integration with GM Financials technology and equipment Direct selected product research and support other technology and evaluation projects Participate in an on-call support rotation for providing after-hours support Qualifications What makes You an ideal candidate? Detail oriented Local and wide area networking concepts, principles and protocols Infrastructure design and management Advanced knowledge in Infrastructure design and management Working knowledge of management processes such as personnel administration, planning and budgeting Strong working knowledge of Intel platforms, iSeries and pSeries servers Advanced understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices and processes Experience with UML Design Tools TCP/IP, OSI model and imp subnetting High level understanding of technology infrastructure, security concepts and platforms Demonstrated success in project management Advanced knowledge of IBM pSeries hardware, operating systems and TSM backup infrastructure Advanced knowledge of the OSI model and security that is associated with each layer Understanding of routing and switching protocols as they relate to load balancing Understanding of application layer protocols including SSH, SSL, and DNS Knowledge and stay abreast on the latest security and privacy legislation, regulations, advisories, alerts and vulnerabilities Knowledge of IT security processes and controls as well as IT infrastructure and networking technical knowledgeAbility to think strategically and make collaborative decisions Ability to apply structured analysis methods to various types of data to establish trends, determine variability and business impact Communicates quickly, clearly, concisely, appropriately, and intelligently Foster open communication, speaks with impact, listens to others, and writes effectively Experience with alternate management methods using SSH, serial connections, and the command-line interface TMSH Ability to effectively negotiate with vendors on upgrades and acquisitions Effective planning, time management, negotiation, and delegation skills Strong level IT security processes and controls knowledge as well as IT infrastructure and networking technical knowledge Ability to approach problems with an open-mind and create new and innovative ideas and methods Strong technical writing Experience in documentation tools such as Visio and Microsoft Office products Information security standards/frameworks (i.e., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001) skills Advanced experience with Network and VLAN segmentation Strong analytical skills Ability to approach problems with an open-mind, use existing information and resources Creative, Innovative, problem-solving and maximizing your potential to solve problems and improve methods Think positively when faced with obstacles, build on others ideas, think logically and intuitively Limited travel may be required to support business needs Additional Knowledge And Skills Working effectively within an AI enabled environment: Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection Work Experience & Education 5-7 years of Audio and Video management preferred Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience required What We Offer: Generous benefits package available on day one to include: 401K matching, bonding leave for new parents (12 weeks, 100% paid), tuition assistance, training, GM employee auto discount, community service pay and nine company holidays.
