Handshake is recruiting exceptional master's and doctoral students, candidates, and graduates in Biology to join our AI research community. This program brings subject-matter experts together to enhance the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) across specialized domains such as Molecular & Cellular Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Plant & Fungal Biology, Invertebrate & Insect Biology, and Ecological & Environmental Biology . The MOVE program runs year-round, though project availability will vary by domain.
Program Overview
- This is a fully remote, asynchronous position - work independently from anywhere, on your own schedule.
- Learn new skills while contributing to the evolving field of AI across various biological disciplines.
- Get paid competitively to apply your domain expertise in biology.
- Project work includes designing and testing advanced biology problems with AI models to ensure they are appropriately challenging.
Who Should Apply
- PhD students, postdocs, or recent PhDs in biology, with research experience in areas including but not limited to Ecology & Environmental Biology.
- Able to participate in primarily asynchronous work in partnership with leading AI labs.
- Confident that your expertise can surpass current AI systems in understanding and explaining key concepts in your field.
This program is open to U.S.-based doctoral students, candidates, and recent graduates with valid work or training authorization (e.g., F-1/OPT, J-1, H-1B). Participants are responsible for ensuring compliance with their visa conditions and confirming eligibility with their visa sponsor prior to applying.
Compensation
- Ranges from $75 - $100/hr depending on the project.
