Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 26-week contract Shift: Full-Time, 3x12s - day or night shift (scheduled as needed) Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week + 2 on-call shifts in 4 weeks Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse in a Medical/Surgical environment License: Current RN licensure in Client Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA only), NIHSS Must-Have: 2 years' experience as an RN Description: The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The RN provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the delivery of care throughout the patient's episode. This role involves caring for adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions. The RN is accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization. The RN also promotes comfort and provides emotional support in a healing environment. Key Responsibilities include: - Applying nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care. - Assessing patient and family needs through active listening and data analysis. - Developing culturally relevant, individualized plans of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team. - Advocating for and protecting the health, safety, and rights of patients. - Teaching and delegating tasks consistent with the individual’s training and scope of practice. - Motivating patients and families by educating them on post-discharge care. - Documenting education provided and assessing patient/family understanding. - Evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. - Engaging in self-evaluation and professional development. - Establishing meaningful connections with patients and families. - Demonstrating skill in medication administration. This position involves potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and requires tasks that may involve contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
