Compassionate Friends Homecare LLC provides the following services: Medical Care: Non-Skilled nursing care can help manage physical injuries and chronic conditions. Mental Health Support: Our caregivers can assist with emotional, psychological and social well being. Daily Living Assistance: Assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, incontinence care, meal preparation, medication reminders, mobility assistance, personal hygiene, companionship, errands/shopping, assistance with eating, light housekeeping, weekend care, respite services, and surgery recovery helps veterans maintain independence. About the Role: The Caregiver plays a vital role in providing compassionate and personalized support to individuals who require assistance with daily living activities due to age, illness, or disability. This position focuses on enhancing the quality of life for clients by ensuring their safety, comfort, and emotional well-being in their homes or care facilities. The Caregiver collaborates closely with healthcare professionals and family members to implement care plans tailored to each individual's unique needs. Through attentive observation and communication, the Caregiver identifies changes in clients' conditions and responds appropriately to maintain their health and dignity. Ultimately, this role is essential in fostering independence and promoting a supportive environment that respects the client's preferences and lifestyle choices. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a certified caregiver training program or equivalent experience in personal care. Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR certification. Ability to pass background checks and comply with state and federal regulations for caregiving. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed care plans. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working as a caregiver or in a healthcare setting. Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA), State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation software. Additional training in specialized care areas such as dementia or palliative care. Bilingual abilities to effectively communicate with diverse client populations. Responsibilities: Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to maintain personal hygiene and comfort. Provide medication reminders and support adherence to prescribed treatment plans under the guidance of healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when necessary, ensuring dietary restrictions and preferences are respected. Perform light housekeeping duties including laundry, cleaning, and organizing to maintain a safe and healthy living environment. Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation and promote mental well-being. Monitor clients’ physical and emotional condition, documenting observations and reporting any significant changes to supervisors or healthcare providers. Assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to prevent injury and promote client independence. Coordinate transportation and accompany clients to medical appointments, social activities, or errands as needed. Skills: The required skills enable the Caregiver to provide safe and effective personal care, ensuring clients' physical needs are met with respect and professionalism. Strong communication skills are essential for understanding client preferences, collaborating with healthcare teams, and providing emotional support. Attention to detail and observational skills help in identifying changes in clients’ health status, allowing timely intervention. Preferred skills such as certification and specialized training enhance the ability to manage complex care situations and improve client outcomes. Additionally, organizational skills and familiarity with documentation tools support accurate record-keeping and compliance with care standards.
