Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides immediate, comprehensive care to patients in the emergency room setting, assessing, stabilizing, and managing a variety of medical conditions. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality urgent care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients upon arrival to determine severity of condition and prioritize care based on acuity.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to ER protocols and physician orders.
• Monitor patient vitals, respond to emergencies, and perform advanced life support when necessary.
• Document patient care accurately using electronic health records and communicate effectively with staff and patients.
• Assist in procedures such as wound management, IV placements, and intubations.
• Float within scope to meet departmental needs and support other units as required.

Qualifications:

• Valid South Carolina or multi-state/compact RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS.
• Ability to work 3x12 night shifts (7 p.m. - 7 a.m.) and every other weekend.
• Epic electronic health record experience preferred.
• Strong skills in emergency assessment, rapid decision-making, and trauma care.
