We're building something special, and we need a talented pastry leader to help us get there. Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry Chef to lead our pastry program with creativity, precision, and strong execution. In this role, you will oversee all pastry production for a kosher bakery, ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and food safety in a fast-paced, growing environment. Our menu includes a mix of classic and contemporary pastries, alongside a selection of traditional items rooted in Jewish baking, such as babka and rugelach; experience with these is not required, but a strong technical foundation, adaptability, and enthusiasm to learn and execute them at a high level is essential. This is an opportunity for a chef who can both elevate core offerings and contribute new ideas, helping shape a dynamic and compelling pastry program. Responsibilities Preparing, baking, decorating, and presenting a variety ofdesserts, baked goods and traditional Jewish pastries with finesse and consistency Develop and refine recipes, keeping our offerings fresh while honoring the traditions our customers love Oversee cake decorating projects, ensuring artistic excellence and attention to detail in every creation Support catering events and special occasions with elegant plated desserts and specialty presentations Ensure all food production adheres to dietary standards, food safety regulations, and proper handling procedures at all times Supervise operations, including inventory management, food preparation, and cleanliness standards Collaborate with the broader team on special menus, seasonal offerings, and community events Requirements Proven pastry experience with a strong portfolio of baked goods, desserts, and cake decorating skills Extensive experience in a bakery, restaurant, or high-volume food production environment No prior experience with Jewish or kosher baking required — but you must be genuinely comfortable and confident in your ability to learn and execute these traditions with care and respect Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures Strong leadership qualities with experience managing a kitchen team Creative, detail-oriented, and able to balance tradition with innovation Excellent customer service mindset — our customers are passionate about this bakery, and so should you be Why this bakery?
