The company's commitment to finding new and better ways to RECLAIM, RECYCLE and REUSE bridges the sustainability goals of scrap tire generators nationwide with those of local scrap rubber consumers.The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems. This role serves as a technical leader within the organization, driving initiatives that improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance while supporting business growth objectives.The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering leader with extensive manufacturing experience, strong project management capabilities, and a proven track record of implementing sustainable process improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Duties and Responsibilities:Process Improvement & Operational ExcellenceLead continuous improvement initiatives that improve productivity, yield, quality, and overall operational performance.Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to eliminate waste, reduce downtime, and improve throughput.Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to support decision-making and operational improvements.Support new manufacturing process development.Evaluate manufacturing readiness and capacity requirements.Ensure adherence to all environmental, health, and safety standardsTechnical LeadershipProvide technical leadership and engineering support to manufacturing operations.Mentor and develop site leadership and production personnel.Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.Develop engineering standards, best practices, and process documentation.Project ManagementLead capital and equipment improvement projects from concept through implementation.Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and ROI analyses.Coordinate equipment purchases, installation, commissioning, and validation activities.Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.Extensive travel will be required.Skills and Abilities:Must be hands-on, self-directed, organized, and conscientious individualProficient in project management with strong time management skills in a dynamic environmentStrong quality-orientation with attention to detail and desire to deliver service excellenceStrong interpersonal skills to work well with others in a proactive, positive, constructive mannerStrong communication skills for effective interaction from floor operator to executive managementAbility to work within labor intensive production environmentsPrefer someone with experience in industries such as product recycling, waste processing, mining or other industries involved with heavy duty equipmentStrong analytical skills and ability to use computer software to support themPossess an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovate to achieve great resultsExperience with conveyance, automation, robotics, PLCs, and Industry 4.0 technologies.Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field preferred or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.10+ years of operations and engineering experience in manufacturing environmentExtensive experience with process improvement tools and technologies requiredKnowledge and hands on experience with heavy duty processing equipment and conveyanceSignificant experience in labor intensive production environmentsExperience with material flow/sizing (waste processing, mining production) preferredBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceEEO Statement:Liberty Tire Recycling is an equal opportunity employer.
