Medical Assistant - Gastroenterology

South Windsor, CT Pay From: $23 per hour

MUST:

• Graduated from an Accredited MA Program (preferred)
• At least one full year of Medical Assistant experience
• Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and referring practices
• Have a broad knowledge of medical terminology (1+ year of healthcare experience)
• EMR experience is a must, Epic experience is a plus
• Have the ability to prioritize and multi-task and must be able to function in a fast paced, at times, stressful environment

DUTIES:

• Providing Remarkable Patient Experience: you will be responsible for rooming patients, obtaining vital signs (blood pressure, height, and weight) and documenting accurately utilizing Epic EMR
• Attention to Detail: Updating patient's medical history including updated medication list
• Team Player: Appropriately documents all patient phone calls and under the direction and guidance of the provider, informs patients of test results
• Versatility: Familiarity with prior authorization process
• Expertise: Asking appropriate triage questions when speaking with patients and accurately recording in Epic
