Join our Greater Cleveland YMCA team in living our cause and helping to provide quality, safe and healthy programs and services in our community.The Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the designated YMCA facility.Perform daily cleaning of assigned facility including but not limited to: cleaning and sanitizing restrooms & locker rooms, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, trash removal, window cleaning, trash pickup and removal, spill cleanup, floor cleaning and maintenance in all areas of the Y.Maintain all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products; ensure safe and sanitary storage and care of productsIn charge of vacuuming equipment; vacuums and cleans carpets, performs further treatments such as shampoo or stain-removal as neededEnsure all directions for cleaning chemicals and supplies are followed as directed.Responsible for ensuring proper supply levels are maintained, as well as reporting all inventory and/or supply needs to supervisor in a timely manner to ensure the cleanliness of the facility.Interacts with members and staff in a positive, professional manner that supports our cause.Report any maintenance issues or concerns to supervisor immediately.Assist and/or perform projects of a special nature.Must be able to read, and write legibly and in an understandable manner.Other duties as assigned by supervisor.High School diploma preferred.Previous experience in commercial housekeeping required.Any Janitorial, Custodial or Floor Maintenance certification preferred.CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire.Must be 18 years of age.Must be able to effectively communicate with members and YMCA staff.Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performanceMaintain a clean and orderly work environment.Customer-oriented and friendlyPrioritization and time management skillsWorking quickly without compromising qualityMust be able to read and understand cleaning product and equipment instructions and apply them effectively.Demonstrate commitment to the mission, cause of the YMCA, and uphold its values and ethics.Ability to work effectively work with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptionsWillingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect. All employees are required to follow the child abuse and neglect reporting process: completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form, calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate supervisor, branch executive, risk management and human resources department (s).Must be able to move and lift 50-75 lbs.Must be willing and able to climb a ladder.A frequent amount of standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and bending.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy.May be required to work outside and on occasion may encounter inclement weather.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
