About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, CPI/MOAB Must-Have: - EPIC EMR Experience in a similar unit within the last 12 months - Telemetry experience preferred Description: The Medical Care Unit is designed for patients with less acute medical needs. Patients may be awaiting placement in long-term care facilities. The unit serves a variety of medical diagnoses. Nurses may float between the Medical Care Unit and Inpatient Rehabilitation. Inpatient Rehabilitation specializes in intense rehabilitation services. The nurse will deliver care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Collaboration with other health team members is essential for effective patient care. Interacting effectively with patients and their significant others is a priority. High standards of professional nursing must be maintained. Patient populations include geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, telemetry, and those with psychiatric issues. Floating between units is required. Weekend rotation is expected. The estimated hours per week are 36. If called in during low census, the nurse must respond and arrive on-site within one hour.
