Duration: 6 months
Technical lead - active directory, sccm, endpoint management
Architectural Strategy: Design and maintain a scalable client device architecture that supports complex research applications and high-throughput data processing.
Endpoint Management & Automation: Lead the design and implementation of Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solutions (e.g., KACE SDA/SMA, SCCM, Intune) to automate provisioning, patching, and software deployment. Backup Solutions: Architect and set up infrastructure to manage comprehensive device backups.
Hardware Lifecycle: Evaluate and standardize "Next-Gen" hardware (GPUs, VR/AR, specialized sensors) to ensure compatibility with lab instrumentation.
Virtualization & Remote Access: Architect VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) or DaaS solutions for researchers needing high-compute power remotely.
Monitoring & Healing: Deploy Nexthink solutions for proactive monitoring and automated healing of the device environment.
Collaboration: Act as the technical liaison between the Research R&D teams and the broader Corporate IT/Security departments.
Device Integration & Directory Services
Active Directory: Design and set up the Active Directory structure and security groups
Policy Management: Configure Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and manage generic accounts for lab device access.
Vendor & Project Oversight
Vendor Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, facilitating high-level communication and resolving complex issues.
Performance Evaluation: Monitor vendor performance against Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contractual obligations.
Project Planning: Define project scopes, resource allocations, and timelines for major device-related initiatives.
Security, Compliance & Risk
Policy Enforcement: Ensure all client devices strictly adhere to organizational security policies and regulatory standards.
Risk Mitigation: Identify potential security vulnerabilities within the device ecosystem and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Technology Evaluation: Assess emerging technologies and lead the implementation of upgrades to enhance lab capabilities.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term strategies for device management and integration within the broader organizational environment.
Staff Development: Develop training programs for lab personnel on device operations and foster a culture of continuous learning.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain comprehensive documentation for all configurations, troubleshooting guides, and processes.
Provide regular reports to management regarding device performance, project milestones, and vendor interactions.
