Critical Requirements

• Mandatory Wound Care Certification
• Minimum 3 years of experience
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required
• ACLS preferred

Position Summary

The Wound Care RN provides comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, and care for patients with complex wound and ostomy conditions. The RN also educates patients and their families/significant others regarding appropriate wound and ostomy supplies, equipment, and care techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients with:
  • Ostomies
  • Draining wounds
  • Fistulas
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Acute wounds
  • Chronic wounds
• Develop individualized wound and ostomy care plans.
• Implement appropriate wound care interventions.
• Provide comprehensive ostomy and wound management.
• Educate patients and families/significant others on:
  • Wound and ostomy care
  • Selection of appropriate supplies
  • Recommended equipment
  • Proper use and management of supplies/equipment
• Promote optimal wound healing and patient outcomes.

Position at a Glance

Experienced Wound Care RN with mandatory wound-care certification, responsible for complex wound/ostomy assessment, treatment, and patient education. Weekday daytime schedule with no weekend or holiday requirements.
