El Técnico de Cuidado del Paciente (PCT) apoya el trabajo del personal de Enfermería para satisfacer las necesidades de los pacientes con el fin de proporcionar una atención segura, eficiente, oportuna y de excelente calidad. Las principales responsabilidades incluyen tomar y registrar signos vitales, ayudar a los pacientes con la higiene y la eliminación, garantizar la seguridad del paciente y mantener un ambiente limpio y seguro en la unidad. Ayuda a reabastecer los suministros de la unidad, opera el equipo del hospital según se indique, realiza tareas administrativas rutinarias y asiste con otras funciones relacionadas según se le asigne. Apoya la misión, visión y objetivos de la organización y cumple con las regulaciones de las agencias regulatorias. Demuestra un comportamiento consistente con los valores fundamentales y apoya el plan del hospital y los objetivos de la organización. INFORMACIÓN Y DOCUMENTACIÓN DEL CUIDADO Mide y registra con precisión el peso y los signos vitales de los pacientes. Reconoce y reporta cambios en la condición del paciente, toma las acciones apropiadas y documenta con precisión todas las actividades según se requiera. Recibe, inventoría y asegura las pertenencias de los pacientes de manera adecuada. CONFORT Y PRIVACIDAD DEL PACIENTE Asiste al paciente con la alimentación, la higiene, la eliminación, el cuidado rutinario de la piel, medidas de confort y otras Actividades de la Vida Diaria (AVD), considerando la edad, el género, la cultura y las preferencias expresadas por el paciente, manteniendo la privacidad y el respeto del paciente en todo momento. Asume la responsabilidad de mantener un ambiente limpio y seguro. Asegura que se sigan los procedimientos de Control de Infecciones y el cumplimiento con HIPAA. COLABORACIÓN PARA LA ATENCIÓN DEL PACIENTE Asiste con las actividades de atención al paciente según lo indique la enfermera licenciada, incluyendo la recolección/transporte de muestras, el cambio de posición y el transporte del paciente. Realiza rondas frecuentes y horarias para garantizar la seguridad y promover una experiencia positiva para el paciente. COMUNICACIÓN Participa activamente en comportamientos de cuidado, asumiendo conscientemente la responsabilidad de su trabajo y toma acciones proactivas, deliberadas y reflexivas respecto a las actividades laborales.
