Project Controls Analyst

Note this is an in-office role with open positions in either the Houston, TX area or the Kansas City, KS area.

The Project Controls Analyst will play a pivotal role in project oversight, supporting mission critical energy center projects. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the role will support the full spectrum of project reporting, supporting budgets tracking, cost forecasting, change management, invoicing and subcontractor coordination. The role will encompass a range of duties including, but not limited to:

Primary Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager with budgets tracking and maintenance
• Monitor and reconcile commitments (subcontracts, POs, etc.) and uncommitted exposure against the baseline budget.
• Review subcontractor/vendor invoices and/or pay apps for alignment with progress by coordinating with the project delivery team.
• Update cost projections to reflect changes, trends, and risks.
• Track change orders, claims, and potential scope changes, ensuring proper approvals.
• Oversee vendor Purchase Orders (appropriate terms & conditions, payment schedule).
• Maintain and track project cash flows.
• Coordinate cost and schedule data (earned value, productivity tracking, cash flow).
• Provide project managers and leadership with budget performance reports, variance analysis, and insight about risks or improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company financial controls, contract requirements, and customer reporting. Maintain the control budget and forecast for the project.
• Provide customer invoicing and cash flow forecasts as needed.
• Track equipment inventory and inventory in storage.
• Maintain monthly cost reports (Estimate at Completion, Cash Flow, variance reports).
• Key Deliverables:
• Budget reporting and reconciliation
• Change order management
• Tracking commitments and reconciliation with budgets/forecasts
• Timely and accurate reporting financial and scheduling information to help project managers make decisions and prevent budget overruns
• Highlight risks/opportunities to PMs and Regional Leadership.
• Reconcile reports between budget and forecast vs. the accounting system of record.

Experience/Education

• Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
• Oil/Gas and/or Datacenter industry experience is a plus
• Resourceful, meticulous, good team player with a positive mindset and able to work under tight timelines and fast-paced environment.
• Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task and organize large volume of data
• ERP experience (Oracle/SAP/Deltek)
• Proficient in MS Office applications, especially MS Excel.
• Additional language skills are a plus.
