About the Role:

Sen Restaurant in Sag Harbor, NY is looking for a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. If you have a love for Japanese cuisine and a dedication to crafting beautiful, precise, and delicious sushi, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities:

Prepare and present high-quality sushi, sashimi, and Japanese-inspired dishes with consistency and artistry

Source, inspect, and handle fresh fish and seafood with proper food safety and sanitation standards

Manage sushi bar operations during service, including setup, breakdown, and cleanliness

Collaborate with the culinary team to develop seasonal menu items and daily specials

Monitor ingredient inventory, minimize waste, and communicate supply needs to management

Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation in compliance with health codes

Deliver an engaging and memorable sushi bar experience for guests when applicable

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Sushi Cook in a professional kitchen setting

Strong knowledge of Japanese culinary techniques, fish butchery, and knife skills

Familiarity with a wide variety of fish, shellfish, and specialty Japanese ingredients

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment

Food Handler's Certification or ServSafe certification preferred

Strong attention to detail, presentation, and consistency

Reliable, team-oriented, and professional demeanor
