Summary The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), within this Department serves at the staff level and is selected by the Assistant Chief and an Administrative panel after having met the requisite education, training, and experience criteria set out in this job description. The individual may be responsible for supervision of employees. Applicant is hired under the legal doctrine of employment at will. Provides specialized clinical direction by planning, implementing and evaluating hands-on programs to ensure quality service delivery and that the supervision needs of adult probationers who have mental health and/or substance abuse issues are met. Evaluates community supervision clients who have mental health and/or substance abuse issues and potentially other factors in order to determine treatment needs and assist with supervision decisions. Produce legal documents and reports which have a direct impact on client recidivism rates and public safety within Bexar County. Ensures all work is in compliance with policies, procedures, federal, state and local regulations, and licensure and funding requirements are maintained.
