Dental Assistant

Job Purpose:- The Dental Assistant at Eastern Plumas Health Care District will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by ensuring efficient and effective patient care. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing excellent patient service to enhance the overall patient experience.Key Responsibilities:- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and treatments.- Prepare and organize dental instruments, materials, and equipment for each patient appointment.- Ensure the dental operatory and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained in accordance with health regulations.- Take and develop dental X-rays as instructed by the dentist.- Provide patients with pre- and post-operative instructions and ensure they understand their dental care plan.- Maintain accurate patient records and update information as necessary.- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar efficiently.- Order and monitor dental supplies inventory to ensure availability of necessary materials.- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive dental care.- Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the dental office.Required Education:- High school diploma or equivalent.- Completion of an accredited dental assistant program.Required Experience:- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a dental assistant in a clinical setting.- Familiarity with dental procedures, instruments, and equipment.- Experience in taking and developing dental radiographs.Required Skills and Abilities:- Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures.- Proficient in using dental practice management software.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr Eastern Plumas Health Care District
