Education Program Manager
The Education Program Manager oversees certification and professional development programs aimed at meeting the needs of the indoor climbing industry. The Education Program Manager is responsible for ensuring excellence and consistency in project management and serves as staff liaison to CWA committees focused on certification and professional development. The Education Program Manager will rely on industry feedback and committee expertise to identify certification needs and work to support collaboration and partnership opportunities. The Education Program Manager will be responsible for the overall administration and management of all certification programs, the CWA's learning management system, and education sessions at CWA events.
Key Collaborative Efforts
- Collaborate with and manage all external stakeholders on the Climbing Wall Instructor, Coaching, Work at Height, and Routesetting committees;
- Collaborate with the Membership Manager on the integration of certification courses and events with CWA Membership offerings;
- Collaborate with the Content Manager on the marketing of certification courses and events;
- Collaborate with the CWA team and volunteers to create and manage virtual and in-person CWA professional development content and education sessions at the CWA Summit, webinars, and CWA Certification Summits.
Essential Duties
Certification Programs
- Create, update, and maintain CWA course content;
- Deliver virtual, hybrid, and in person certification courses for CWA certification programs;
- Manage the annual schedule for CWA courses and events;
- Perform all CWA certification program administrative duties;
- Handle all member questions regarding CWA certification programs.
Professional Development and Virtual Service Development
- Create, update, and maintain virtual courses using a Learning Management System (LMS);
- Help in moderating communities in the CWA's LMS;
- Implement the LMS with the CWA's certification processes;
- Handle all provider and member questions regarding CWA's LMS.
Content Creation
- Author newsletter articles and other material for the CWA;
- Recruit industry professionals who are qualified to present at CWA events or contribute content;
- Develop and manage education sessions for CWA Certification Summits;
- Develop and manage education sessions for the annual CWA Summit.
Key Competencies and Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of current needs of the indoor climbing industry related to risk management, staff training, customer service, routesetting, and climbing wall management;
- Proven experience in detailed project planning and implementation, ensuring collaborative efforts, milestone identification, and strict adherence to deadlines; High proficiency in English (written and verbal);
- Experience developing professional training or educational curriculum; Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven ability to manage committee volunteers;
- The ability to travel up 25% of the time for events and meetings.
Benefits
- Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000

Typical Physical Demands: Position requires moderate physical effort but may require prolonged sitting at a computer.
Typical Mental Demands:
- Candidate must be able to handle novel, diverse, and ambiguous work problems daily.
- The candidate must be able to deal with staff, member, and board questions.
- Ability to analyze information, formulate project plans, and achieve weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual goals by deadlines and on budget.
Equipment/Software Used: Standard office equipment. Software includes Online tools, Windows OS, MS Office 365, virtual conferencing, etc.
Working Environment: Work environment is hybrid with remote work and office-based meetings and team events regularly in Boulder Colorado.
Travel: Position will require attending and or participating in events and meetings throughout the US and Canada from time to time.
